Customers may be able to extend their home insurance policy to cover costs incurred if they become aware of identity fraud.
This includes:
- the costs of defending claims made by financial institutions;
- the costs incurred in cancelling criminal and civil judgements; communication costs; and
- any fees incurred in re-applying for a loan that was turned down because of the identity fraud.
